Getting recycling right also matters to the people who handle the materials after they leave your home. While much of the sorting process at our Materials Recovery Facility is automated, our teams also play an important role in identifying and removing materials that should not be there.
Some incorrect items can cause problems with sorting machinery or create potential safety risks for the people working with the material. By putting the right things in your recycling, you can help our teams process materials safely and efficiently.
A shared effort
Good recycling starts at home, but everyone has a part to play. Residents separate their materials, our crews collect them and our teams work to sort and prepare them for onward recycling.
